Taking literally months the DENR finally issued warnings to Veblon East and Veblon West Dairy to reduce their pond levels.

It had been reported by Roger Sandberg of Concerned Citizens of Big Stone Lake that they had heard since June that there were serious problems with the pond and the citation being issued in mid-September.

Although no pollution event has taken place this has the potential of being a very major event.

This is occuring at the very time Citizens Concerned for Grant County are requesting greater set back requirements for property near the CAFO's.

It is being said that this may create a big hazard to the eco-systems in the area, including Big Stone Lake.
