The Ortonville City Council met on December 7 and passed the budget. Why the rush to pass a budget? The 2009 budget wasn't passed until months into the year. There were numerous meetings and discussions on what would be done. Now all of a sudden this year they can pass a budget in a heartbeat?

Why Did Blair Johnson feel the need to pass a budget before the incoming city council meets? Wouldn't it have been better to let the incoming city council pass their own budget?

Our citizens may be deceived for awhile, and have been deceived;
but as long as the presses can be protected,
we may trust to them for light.
