9. Recommendation of Citizen Boards.....
f. EDA Recommendation: EDA and City Council Concur to Re-Start Work Groups
g. EDA Recommendation: EDA Board Nominations-Burt Nypen, Blair Johnson, and a Representative from the Big Stone Lake Area ChamberWith all the activity of Blair Johnson and the outgoing councilmen it is surprising that this item was left for the incoming City Council to vote on. Perhaps it is a rule that cannot be avoided, that the incoming council votes on the new board members? Some people find rules annoying.
One of the things that the City Council voted on in their flurry of activity last month was
Resolution 09-151 It is a resolution to retain Larson Allen Weishair & Co LLP to perform the city audit. How long has this company been doing the audit? The first mention of it in the minutes is January 8, 2007.
Resolution 07-002. This is for the year that Blair Johnson became mayor. The first year of Blair Johnson's leadership. Interestingly this is also the company that did not audit the EDA.
Isn't this the same company that David Lang said did the
EDA books? How usual is that for a company to be doing the EDA books and to audit the city books too? Why has Mr. Lang refused to produce the Profit and Loss Statement and the Balance Sheet for the EDA for about 6 months now?
Does the man who was voted out of office want to maintain his influence in the EDA? Is the EDA the organization in the City of Ortonville that boasted it had over
$500,000 and hasn't produced a Balance Sheet or a Profit and Loss statement? One has to wonder "Who's in charge?"
