Check out this Web site for a recipe that all my friends have been raving about. They are as tickled about the results as they are the cost -- 71 cents to make enough soap for 64 loads of laundry. At book club, it was all they could talk about!

Oh yes, I do this! I have done both the gel and dry laundry soap! It sure stretches doing washing when there's 6 of us! I'm also one of those frugal people who waters down the catsup (ketsup) bottles and uses that for soups, sauces, bbqs, etc--so if you come to house and open the fridge, you'll probably see a watered-down catsup bottle, waiting to be used. Oh, I also, cut open shampoo, dish soap, etc bottles to get that every last drop. Okay, I know some are going ewwweee or laughing but I have to be frugal. But I found out that buying the "cheap brand" cereals and putting them in the "name brand" boxes do not work with the kids!

LOL! Which reminds me of a joke I once heard. The frugal Mom substituted a blend of powdered and regular milk, which her children and husband soundly rejected. So she began putting the substitute in the regular, grocery store gallon jugs. All went well and no one noticed the switch until one day her daughter, home from college and standing at the refrigerator door, asked, "Mom, is there something you need to tell us about this milk?" "Why, what do you mean?" countered Mom. "Well, it expired two and a half years ago."
