PostSubject: Big Stone Lake Area Baseball Association   Wed Jun 03, 2009 10:16 pm

The Big Stone Lake Area Baseball Association {BSLABA} consists of individuals ranging from baseball coaches to interested people who have grouped together to strengthen and further the presence of baseball in our area. The focus of the group is to capitalize on the rebirth of youth and adult "semi-pro" baseball in Ortonville, Big Stone City, and the surrounding area. Teams represented are a VFW 15-16 year old team, VFW 13-14 year old team, American Legion 17-19 year old team, and the Ortonville Rox. The Rox has a long and storied history in Ortonville and continues to be a very competitive team in the Teal League and was it's regular season champion in 2008. Schedules for all four teams is published elsewhere in the Forum. Become a regular supporter of our local baseball teams and attend their games. It's pretty inexpensive entertainment. Come out and enjoy!

Mustang himself has contributed enormous amount of time and has been a leading promoter of baseball. The dugouts and the new signs coming in a year are in large part the result of the hard work of Mustang.

Baseball would not be possible but for the support of the VFW in Ortonville who contribute money, insurance, badges and just the great support.

The American Legion in Big Stone City also contribute financially and their support has made baseball possible. Fund raising efforts and the support of the new field in Big Stone City.

All of us would be remiss in not pointing out that Big Stone City and Ortonville and the school districts also provide the help necessary in bringing baseball back to the area.

Thanks for all of those I have forgotten. As you can see this is truly a joint efforts and of different communities. Good luck to each of the teams.
