For two years the city of Big Stone has promised to improve the existing field which has numerous issues. Including but not limited to gopher holes you can swim in, in the outfield, a baseball mound that mimics a 2 x 4, dugouts that were out of place 25 years ago and a backstop not in compliance with Legion and VFW Baseball.
The sad thing is the council supposedly claimed that we are a dying community so why help the kids?
Wow! How do you argue with that illogical position? Why not improve the field so that you encourage others to come and move to the community?
We need to be more proactive and build the community. If we have money for the liquor store why not spend a little on our children.
Now is the time so that we can use the field this spring. Or should we want another 25 years?
