Three students from Milbank won honors at the East River Student Congress held on Friday, March 26th in Brookings. Mitchell Wagner won the Superior Speaker award in Experienced House 1. In Inexperienced House 1, Jesse Nelson was named the top speaker in the house as he won the Oustanding Speaker.
In Inexperienced House 2, Nathaniel Steinlicht was awarded the Oustanding Presiding Officer. Experienced House competitors from MHS included John Ward, Timothy Whelan, Josh Grabow, Amanda Lambrechts, Jacob Manlove, and Brent Seehafer. Speakers in the inexperienced house from MHS included Allwin McDonald, Rachel Johannsen, Seth McDonald, Cheyenne Voeltz, Taylor Welberg, and Katie Loutsch.
Tuesday Milbank hosts the final invitational Congress, and the District NFL Congress is set for Mid-April in Pierre.
