We're all keenly aware of the economic problems our country is facing. Now we find that it extends to nearly every state, Minnesota included. In Minnesota, the thought of reducing local government aid is being discussed. If, indeed, the state does so in order to help it deal with the budgetary shortfall, it will seriously impact on every municipality and county in the state. Our elected officials must be prepared and ready to deal with this if it occurs. Whenever you meet any of our councilmembers {and county commissioners}, encourage them to keep this in mind as they go forward into 2009.
