At the March 2, 2009 Ortonville city council meeting They approved the 2009 budget amendments except for the pool. The pool was scheduled for over $9,000 in cuts. The council decided to review those cuts.

One of the cuts for $2,000 would eliminate the evening swimming on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Another cut of $3,860 would scheduled 4 lifeguards instead of 5 to 6. That would to bad for the kids home from school trying to find summer jobs.
