The following summer studies were selected by the South Dakota Legislature Executive Board. All members of the Legislature had the opportunity to provide topics and then vote on their top five choices.
Absent from the selected list is a summer study on wind energy, which was strongly encouraged by many South Dakotans, especially in northeast South Dakota.
- A study of long-term highway needs and the resources available to provide financial support for those needs. (This study also includes an agency review of the Department of Transportation to identify ways the department can be more efficient.) - An agency review of the state Bureau of Personnel
- A study of the reimbursement practices for Medicaid providers and a review of the cost structure for home-based medical services
- A study of alcoholic beverage control and licensing laws, intended to do a general update of those laws and consolidate provisions
- A study of the sex offender registry with an eye toward determining whose names end up on the registry and if there should be a policy for removing names from the registry. | |
