I don't want to jinx ANYTHING by mentioning the weather, but most of the crops look very good around Ortonville. The lawns have really bounced back with the rain we have had. Our garden is a bit behind - we've had beans and cucumbers, but the tomatoes are very green and small. Still waiting for that first RED tomato for a fresh BLT!

We have bought some sweet corn from area vendors...mmm, mmm, good! One of the best things about living here is the GREAT fresh veggies from the farmers!

sunny The weather last weekend was great for the farmers. There was dry sunshine, cool winds, and a couple of days to get the crops in.

To all of the farmers in the area you are doing a good job.

We had a friend that drove up to Fargo this past Monday. Once past Wheaton they are having difficulty in getting the crops out -- especially corn and sugar beets. Too much rain for them and not enough drying weather.

We have been pretty lucky here.

All we can hope for is that any RAIN :umbrella: and/or SNOW stays away - but it 'sounds like we may get some rain late Thursday turning to snow (up to an inch)...not ready for that!
