Is well worth the 26.99 price tag.
It seems that the cafo situation has a pattern in every state/area.

1) The powers that be decide that this is the a) future of farming, b)great for economic development.

2)The people who want to open a cafo a) assure the neighbors it will be state of the art, b) will not smell or pollute, c) bring new jobs and revitalize a community. They also encourage tours of their 'trophy place'.

3) The state environmental agency a) assures neighbors that every thing will be up to code, b)that they have the best interest of the water, soil and air.
more to come...

The second part of the pattern is the neighbors of the future cafo do a little homework.

They go to places where cafos are in operation, they find out all their worries are not imagined, but real.

They find out that nearly everyone in government positions will actively work against them.

The people is power try to portray the other side as radical, unhinged, stupid, backward and ignorant. They are said to be against livestock and modern farming methods. The names of HSUS and PETA begin to appear.

still more...

If a cafo comes in to an area, complaints about their problems are ignored and/or covered up-even from agencies designed to protect an area.

They find that few, if any jobs go to local people.

They find out that if they have health problems as a result that they are laughed at.

They discover that cafo owners have the right to pollute nearby wells and foul the air with no repercussions.

They discover that a non cafo owner has no rights at all regarding their property.

They discover that it is not only lagoon leakage that will wreck the water, but that ammonia 'clouds' will travel 30 miles or more and will foul the water where they settle.

They also discover that often a well will be tainted when manure is spread in an area near their well.
