| Numerous politicians from the Milbank area attended the Otter Tail party attempting to show support for the new coal burning plant. On the Minnesota side of the river the only sign of support was Mayor Johnson as reported in the Grant County Review. Does Otter Tail really care? Probably not. Ortonville and otter tail have a long negative history and otter tail continues to show little regard for the Ortonville citizens. | |

| Ottertail and the City of Ortonville have been working together to help make Big Stone II a reality. They have been in contact with us and our council has several times voted to support Ottertail in their Big Stone II endeavour. The city of Ortonville residents are not Ottertail customers so, like all companies, are serving their customers. | |

| Subject: Why are we promoting problems to tourism Wed Sep 03, 2008 2:12 pm | |
| An additional eyesore in Ortonville does not promote tourism and their is evidence of significant environmental issues. Why did the Minnesota court initially reject the proposal? The detriment to the state may not outweigh the financial gains of a few large businesses. Is the mayor making the right political move? Or are his business clients his real concern? | |

| You bring up an interesting point Mayor Blair. I wonder why Ortonville and Big Stone City are not customers of Ottertail Power. Seems to me that since they are a local business we should be getting our power from them. Why aren't we? I noticed too, during the Cornfest, that Ottertail Power was not listed among the supporters in the Cornfest brochure. It seemed curious to me that they didn't support our local event. | |

| The city has had a contract with Western Area Power and Missouri River Energy to get their power for a long time. I don't know how we got entered into the agreement because it was before my time. I do know that we have substantially lower rates than Ottertail customers as well as other area utilities. | |

| Subject: Why are we supportingthe new Power Plant? Sat Oct 04, 2008 7:18 am | |
| The question is then why did you attend the Otter Tail meeting which purpose was to show support for the power plant? Is it not true that the taxpayers of Ortonville are going to be required to spend thousands of dollars for the land at the foot of the lake for clean-up of PCB's? Have the Ortonville taxpayers bailed out Otter Tail? Has Otter Tail left permanent damage to our children's land for their sake of profit? | |
