The farmer from Gibbon tells a different story. Which one is the truth?
We might never know.
If there was indeed e-coli H717 the public should be made aware of it.
But try to outlaw all raw milk? What about, peanut butter, spinach, salad greens and ground beef? What about Blue Bunny Ice Cream? Many, many more people have been ill from these, and some have died. A few years ago 6 people died in MA from pasteurized milk. Where is the outrage from the FDA?
What about the 'pink slime' created by IBP that is put in hamburger that goes to the fast food industry and to our children's school meals? It has a high amount of ammonia, but the powers that be allow them not to have to declare it as an ingredient.
The FDA approves drugs that have enormous side effects. Some are eventually taken off the market.
The government approves GMO crops w/o proper testing. Similar to the Ag/Cafo industry, that group is permitted to police themselves. In my opinion, GMOs are a far bigger health hazard than raw milk from a small farm where the family consumes their own product.
The USDA, the FDA and to some extent, the CDC has become more likely to make decisions based on politics rather than safety.
I am going to go pour myself a glass of delicious raw milk, produced by cows who are out in the sunshine, eating beautiful fresh grass. Cheers!
