Lou's Greenhouse in Big Stone City is warming up.

Lou's Greenhouse is firing up the heaters and Lou's crew is starting to plant. It is just a start as trucks are coming in and unloading the tender plants. For the next six weeks or so Lou and his crew will be busy filling up 17 greenhouses with over 300,000 plants. The official opening will be on April 20, 2009

It makes one feel that the bitter cold and snow will soon be gone. We can only hope. South Dakota snows can be unpredictable. Last year we had a terrible snow storm in April and there was a drift that covered the side door at Lou's. His shrubs were covered in a blanket of snow. We hope that won't happen again.
