South Dakota is definately ready for the election. Grant County Auditor Karen Layher said the ballots are printed and available for you to view on the internet.

Go to: South Dakota Secretary of State

click on the "voter information portal" in the yellow bar.

Next you will input your name and birthdate.

The website will come up with the pertinent information for the registered voter including the name and address of the place where you will cast your vote.

You can click on the "View Sample Ballot" and see the ballot that will be used in your particular precinct.

Karen Layher said to go ahead and make a copy for yourself, mark on it and take it to the polls when you cast your vote. (Cheat sheets are allowed in the voting booth.)

On the home page of the website is a 2008 Ballot question pamphlet to help explain the Constitutional Amendments and the Initiated Measures that will be on the ballot.

Karen Layher said that in order to vote in the November election you need to register by October 20th.

Karen also stated that you can print your own Absentee Ballot registration by going to the "Elections and voter registrations bar" and clicking on the "Registration and Absentee Voting. " Fill out the form and bring it in to the Grant County Auditors Office.

Did you know that you can cast your absentee ballot right at the Grant County Auditors Office in Milbank?
If you decide to do that then bring a photo
