During one of the worst Christmas storms many of us did stay just as the warnings indicated. We stayed at home!
I heard many of stories of families the storm disrupted our plans, myself included. As I wallowed in self pity, I began to think.
To think about the men and women who are on call for the emergency. The one who cleared our streets, our sidewalks and who do so at their families expense.
We seldom say anything, except in complaints. As each city, county and state struggles with economic hard times take the time to thank our law enforcement agencies, our fire departments, our electrical departments, our emergencies services, our street departments and our medical facilities who gave up some of their family lives so we could be safe in our home.
I know that I speak for many when I say I do not mean to take things for granted, but today I wanted to make sure all of you know, we care and appreciate your services.
