What is in the Milk replacer? Empty

I have been reviewing more videos on CAFO's and found one that mentioned that the milk replacer contained bovine blood. I tried to find it on the internet and found one source that talked about it and that was from the Organic Consumers Association. Click here for Mad Cow via Feeding Calves Blood and Fat from Cattle.

I was wondering if anyone else had any other information on this subject or was it just hype. Are livestock being fed animal byproducts?

On the portal this week is featured a series called "As We Sow." It is well worth the watching. For those of us who are not involved in agriculture it is eye opening. While all of us are not in the production side of agriculture we all are on the consumer side of the issue. I will change the video every few days to show parts 1-3.

Thanks Ladyhawk;
This is an interesting video. I truly feel if we continue to consolidate our food and livestock in few places and hand over control of seed to a few companies, we could possibly see a world wide famine or disease happening.
One of the by-products fed to cattle is chicken waste from the chicken cafos.
This is why my food eating is pretty much relegated to places where I know the source.

Lady Hawk,
there are not supposed to be any animal bi-products fed to animals. Is there? Good question. When the mad-cow disease started to become a big thing, the industry was to eliminate these products.
And your vidio is very good. The thing I question is why cities are regulated on how they handle human waste, but factory farms can store and spread animal waste without any regulations. And we all know the disasters that happen to lagoons, no matter how well constructed, or how well they are managed. It seems that there is as much, if not much more, harmful contents in a lagoon, and no one worries about the regulations, including the branches of government that are suppose to protect US, or the United States!
