then go to the resources section and hit myth busters, it will completely dispell the myths that cafos are needed for a good economy. In fact, the opposite is true.
The former owner of the Veblen dairies was quoted in the paper saying that his dairies would be an economic boon equivilent to Target, 3M and Northwest Airlines rolled into one. It was on such promises some very bad laws were passed in the SD legislature.
One interesting myth that was busted was 'local and regional food systems don't help the economy', it is the last one listed on the sheet.
On a blog I read (Madville Times), Cory Heidelberger wrote that real economic development will never occur until everyone is offered a chance to have input, nt just a select few.
