| Things are getting really busy with presidential elections coming up. Who are you planning on voting for and why? What are your opinions on the candidates and their running mates?

| I guess my choice for President is pretty obvious. The Presidential election is getting plenty of press from the national media. However voting for the US President isn't the only vote we will cast in November. I for one would really like to hear more from our local candidates too. It is my hope that this forum will also be used to show both sides of every local issue and every local candidate that we will be casting our votes for this coming November. To all those candidates on the upcoming election ballot and any other issues being voted on please avail yourself to this forum and let your voice be heard. Feel free to open a thread and speak your piece and answer questions from the public. My goal is for everyone in our area to go to the voting booth with a knowledge of what the issues are and who the people are that you are voting for. Hopefully we will avoid the last minute rush to the polling place and blank stares at the ballot wondering who all these other people are because, "I just came to vote for the President." I am not proud to admit that there have been times in the past when on the day of the election I grabbed the newspaper and based on what I read in one paper I made my decisions. For the most part I didn't know where else to go to find out. It is expensive for candidates and for people with referendums to get information to the people. Well, The Forums is one place where they can be heard at no cost. Another reason to thank you, Computerwhiz, for making this possible. This forum is making me real excited about the upcoming local election. | |

| I'm glad you are pleased Lady Hawk. I was just thinking, for local elections maybe we could open a new thread, that way things are a little more streamlined. Any thoughts? | |

| Computerwhiz has now opened a section for the election. There are sections for Minnesota and South Dakota. I have started making calls and sending emails to candidates to let them know about this site. If you know of anyone who could benefit from this opportunity please let them know. Lets make this the most well informed election ever. This is bigger than one person can do, so if you get an idea as to an issue that is being voted on please bring it to the table. I personally am working with Grant County in SD and Big Stone County in MN. If there are other Counties or Districts that have issues coming up in your local elections please start a thread. Lets have some fun. | |

| I think McCain should be our next president. He will bring change, but change that will be calculated and gaurded. Obama will be a bit more sweeping and unpredictable. Also I am pro life and that issue clearly leaves me supporting McCain/Palin | |

| Our poll indicates that McCain in a landslide. I will vote for McCain. I can't think of one issue I agree with the other side. Of course, I believe in church and believe in the Constitution. The other side ridicules this thought. | |
