Accident at Foot of Bridge In Big Stone prompts Evacuation

At the bridge in Big Stone City on Highway 12 an Anydrous Truck collided with a van and the city of Big Stone has been partially ordered to evacuate.

Anydrous is a dangerous chemical that burns the lungs and if it makes contact with the skin water needs to be applied immediately to prevent burns.

The clean-up is going to take time with at least three fire departments involving Big Stone City, Ortonville and Milbank. Looks like a long night for these dedicated volunteers.

Both the dike road and Hwy 12 was blocked to allow emergency vehicles access to the scene. Avoid the scene to allow the firefighters and ambulance to do their jobs.
