The county is considering a law enforcement center, do we need it?
With the high cost of transportation this should be carefully considered.

Both the City and County were looking at ways to consolidate some buildings and offices - and completed a study. The study included various options, costs, etc. policeman

There was a suggestion of a putting the sheriff's office and the local PD, which I believe the Mayor mentioned on the radio several weeks ago. My understanding is that is something the city will continue to review -- but it is in the discussion stage with no final decisions made.

Both the City Council and the County Board of Commissioners would welcome comments from the citizens.

Some offices could be located together to save money and maybe share some supportive staff. As the community changes, buildings become available, and funding sources come up - it is good that both the county and city governments are keeping their options option.

This area desparately needs a law enforcement center, but should it be built in Ortonville.

The City of Ortonville has a very bad history of working together and should not be trusted. The taxpayers of the county may get more cooperation and a more welcomed reception building the law enforcement center in Clinton.

One issue I see is that if a center is built out of Ortonville, then there will be the transportation issues back and forth to Ortonville for court hearings. There may be other issues as well - but that one comes to mind.

I'm not disagreeing that Clinton, Graceville, and Beardsley should be be considered for possible expansions. It would be interesting to know of the study conducted by the county/city mentioned anything about using other cities within the county.
