I was originally rather neutral about the Governor's race. I had no favorite Republican and Heidepriem may be right about some things. Daugaard is obviously a Mike Rounds clone. I was considering not voting for Governor until recently. But now I think I will vote for Daugaard. Republicans need to be reminded that illegal immigrants take jobs away from South Dakotans.

Sharron Angle, Nevada’s Republican nominee for the United States Senate, said in an interview earlier this year that the recent expansion of Federal entitlement programs is an attempt by President Obama and other Democratic leaders to "make government our god."

http://www.personalliberty.com/news/angle-reid-and-obama-pushing-to-make-government-our-god-19921013/

Reid, President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have pushed "entitlement programs built to make government our God," says Angle, who has called for privatizing Social Security and Medicare for younger workers.

What do progressives believe? Their basic tenets can be stated simply enough. They believe that any god should be replaced with government--for government IS god, which is why an incompetent loonie named Obama was hailed by them as a messiah.

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions of Texas says the GOP intends to recapture the House majority this November. To do it, Republicans look to paint the Democratic majority as anti-jobs, anti-employer -- and even anti-women.
Here's the bottom line: too far, too fast, too liberal. And that is Nancy Pelosi's agenda. Their members are now telling her, from going back home, "We're in trouble." And Republicans intend to capitalize on that, because we have great candidates all across this country.
I think they are completely on record with an agenda that is out of touch with what the middle class of this country needs. And it is jobs. Their political agenda of three items -- cap-and-trade, health care and card check -- net loses 10 million American jobs, using their econometric models. That is an agenda that this electorate knows a lot about right now. We're going to give Democrats credit for their agenda. The American people will see it is about bankrupting this country, it is about making sure we are not competitive with the world and it is about losing millions of jobs.
Yeah, and they're going to come around when they find out when costs go out of sight. They're going to go crazy when they find out that we do not have enough doctors that can make the system work. And when they find out that Democrats are taking half a trillion dollars out of Medicare and that seniors' health care is going to be hugely diminished. This is why they will add the provision that says you must buy at least the government coverage or you will be guilty of a felony of five years in prison and $250,000 fine. They know people will not like this and they're going to force them with threat of a felony. That is not freedom. That is not opportunity. And it means people lose the chance to make decisions in their own life.

Speaker Pelosi’s Job-Killing Agenda
January 17, 2010
Speaker Pelosi goes on to claim that President Barack Obama’s failed stimulus has “created or saved” 1.6 million jobs so far, but even the White House has abandoned its controversial “saved or created” jobs accounting scheme after more than 90,000 of the 640,000 jobs it claimed to create were found to be completely fraudulent. Pelosi then touts the Cash for Clunkers program as another success despite the fact the program did nothing to create auto sector jobs, led to a crash in auto sales, and did nothing to help the environment. Pelosi also celebrated the expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), which only further bankrupts our states and inched us ever closer to government-run health care.

http://www.rightreborn.com/2010/01/17/speaker-pelosis-jobkilling-agenda/

That is because most Democrats lie to their constituents to get elected and the liberal media covers for them. They talk and act conservative while campaigning in their home District but they vote for Pelosi and the radical left’s agenda in Washington.
The National Republican Trust PAC created THE PELOSI INDEX to expose these lies and to hold Democrats and Republicans accountable for every vote they cast.

http://nationalrepublicantrust.com/PelosiIndex/index.php

Recently, I picked up a copy of She’s The Boss – The Disturbing Truth About Nancy Pelosi by Rochelle Schweizer. This is a riveting expose on one the most power hungry, brutal female politicians of all time and as you will see after reading the book, it runs in her family. The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is no retiring, kind and meek grandmother. She is made of Baltimore steel and she has been forged in the boiling corrupt vat of politics in a never-ending quest for power and status that she feels is her birthright.
Pelosi came from a family that bears a striking resemblance to organized crime. She will ruthlessly use and discard any one in her way or who will forward her agenda. She rules the House with an iron grip and she is simultaneously feared and hated by most politicians. Those who claim to support and adore her are sycophants that are in the DC game for money, power and prestige. Her minions are made all the more dangerous due to Pelosi’s powerful reach and thuggish policies. No radical agenda is too outrageous if she deems it worthy. Pelosi’s hypocrisy knows no bounds and she feels no shame.
An elitist’s elitist, Pelosi is cunning in the extreme. Her entire political career has been virtually choreographed and painstakingly planned. You won’t hear apologies from her and most likely, you’ll never see the attack coming if you are in her sights.
Pelosi’s vision for this country is horrific. Instilling Marxism and power for the elite, she envisions an America under her gavel and powerful oversight. Americans will be condemned to poverty and slavery to the state if she has her way. She will not be stopped unless Americans stop her tyrannical rule and the hideous progressive policies she pushes forward. She has risen to the most powerful position held by a woman ever, simply by scaling the political ladder and she is far from finished.
I am currently doing thorough research on Pelosi and this book is a wonder – it will be added as a listed documented tool that has added incredibly to our piles of information on Nancy Pelosi. I would recommend every American read She’s The Boss. Then go over to KeyWiki and read our research on Nancy Pelosi. It is my opinion, that next to Cass Sunstein, she is one of the most dangerous idealogues in our government and evil as a descriptive term, just doesn’t do justice to Pelosi’s agenda.

Underwhelming Republican Pledge To America: Do Nothing About Legal Immigration, Promise To Do What Bush Didn’t Do For Eight Years

You can hardly blame the Republicans for trying to duplicate Newt Gingrich’s 1994 success with the Contract with America, but their new 21 page pledge has been described as “underwhelming.”
Here are the three items that mention immigration:

• Establish Operational Control of the Border: We must take action to secure our borders, and that action starts with enforcing our laws. We will ensure that the Border Patrol has the tools and authorities to establish operational control at the border and prohibit the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture from interfering with Border Patrol enforcement activities on federal lands.
• Work with State and Local Officials to Enforce Our Immigration Laws: The problem of illegal immigration and Mexican drug cartels engaged in an increasingly violent conflict means we need all hands on deck to address this challenge. We will reaffirm the authority of state and local law enforcement to assist in the enforcement of all federal immigration laws.
• Strengthen Visa Security: To stop terrorists like Omar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Christmas Day bomber, we will require the Department of Homeland Security to review all visa applications at high-risk consular posts and prevent aliens from attempting to avoid deportation after having their visas revoked.

Some of that rhetoric sounds better than what you’ll hear from Obama, whose rhetoric goes the other way, and who seems to be doing a stealth amnesty, but…wasn’t there a Republican President for the last two Presidential terms? And a Republican Congress until 2006?
We know how much enforcement didn’t happen then.

http://blog.vdare.com/archives/2010/09/22/underwhelming-republican-pledge-to-america-do-nothing-about-legal-immigration-promise-to-do-what-bush-didnt-do-for-eight-years/

As House Minority Leader John Boehner unveiled the GOP's "Pledge to America" at the Tart Lumber Company in Virginia on Thursday, conservative activists around the country listened intently to find out if House Republicans had included their issues on the GOP's priority list for the near future.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president and chairwoman of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, offered qualified praise for the pledge, saying the Republican leaders "echoed the voices of pro-life Americans calling for a Congress that will protect life." But she added that other items that were not in the document, like defunding Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, must also be Republican priorities.
William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration, a grassroots group that opposes comprehensive immigration reform, said he could praise 90 percent of the document. "The concern that we have is when it says 'immigration reform starts with the enforcement of our laws,'" Gheen said. "We want to find out what some of these Republican candidates think it ends with."
Gheen said while he was happy to see border security included in the document, "What we were hoping for was, 'No path to citizenship ever for the illegals in this country.' Illegal aliens must never be able to become voters."
"In terms of really pushing forth other bold measures, we'll see. We're going to hold them up to it. We're not going away November 3rd."

Dems label GOP as 'Republican-Tea Party'
July 28th, 2010
By: CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser
The Democratic National Committee Wednesday is expected to roll out what they term a "major initiative" that will try to define Republicans as outside the political mainstream.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/07/28/dems-label-gop-as-republican-tea-party/

The bottom line: the [Democratic] majority can neither run on its record nor run away from it. Its only hope is to convince the American people that giving power to an opposition party in its angriest and least moderate mood would only make things worse.”
This would be, in my judgment, an impossible sell. Mark my words. Between now and November, everything that the Democrats do in their attempt to demonize the Tea-Party Movement and the Republicans will backfire. Moreover, as the primary results in Alaska and Delaware suggest, the polls, as currently calibrated, will understate the size of the wave scheduled to arrive on 2 November. I predict that the Republicans will take every single race where the polling data suggests that the race is at all close.

http://ricochet.com/conversations/Democrats-Can-t-Run-On-Their-Record-Or-Away-From-It

Claiming that Republicans have obstructed the Democrats’ ability to govern only makes the GOP look better organized and more powerful.
The party in power can’t run an effective re-election campaign based on how the party out of power is doing too good at a job being the opposition party. It won’t work, it can’t work, and it will do more harm than good.

http://fdlaction.firedoglake.com/2010/01/20/if-you-run-on-republican-obstructionism-you-will-lose/

In Kentucky, the Democrats are calling Rand Paul an extremist. Rand Paul is responding by calling his opponent a Democrat. In the end, the voters will be more scared of a Democrat.

http://www.conservativeblogwatch.com/2010/08/22/sunday-funnies-voters-more-scared-of-democrats-than-extremists/

Democrats can't run on their records, so they accuse Republicans of extremism.

As Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi once pounded her gavel so hard it left a dent in the podium. Ruthless and efficient, she frightens even those who agree with her: Democrats in Congress have learned the hard way to toe the line.
Based on historical archives and exclusive interviews, She's the Boss explores how Pelosi functions as a brass-knuckles political boss and how her grandmotherly image allows her to operate in a manner that few, if any, male politicians could get away with.

http://www.nrbookservice.com/products/BookPage.asp?prod_cd=C7638

Even in the midst of a worsening economy, she was able to cut enough backroom deals to garner the votes she and her political allies needed to capture their Holy Grail: American’s health care system.
Her years of political kneecapping and recriminations may have finally taken their toll.
Earlier this year, a Democratic insider was quoted in Politico saying, “[Pelosi] will put a bullet in the head of anyone she needs to.” That insider went on to say that she would do whatever it took to hold on to her majority.
She had reached the Speaker’s chair through her planned attack on the Republican scandals in the 2006-midterm elections instead of her views on the issues. She knew they wouldn’t sell well.
Without their cover, moderate Democrats are running scared. But the speaker still has her strategy ready. As a Pelosi ally told Politico, she has always told her members, “Do what you have to.” Here is where she is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the majority. She’s willing to take the knocks. In fact, some of her colleagues have produced ads that look like they’re running against her.

http://biggovernment.com/rschweizer/2010/09/22/is-nancy-pelosi-out/#more-170637

For leftists like Pelosi and Obama, health care represents the Holy Grail, a massive slice of the federal fiscal pie, totaling one sixth of the U. S. economy. Better still, as the Boss and Obama fully understand, once health-care authority has been centralized and the left’s utopian vision of ‘redistributive justice,’ has been realized, citizens are unlikely to unwind such massive entitlements.
Pelosi’s operating philosophy: Reward loyal friends and punish dissenters.

The House's Blue Dog Democrats like to pretend they are the deficit tigers of Congress, determined to stop runaway spending and stamp out waste, fraud and abuse.
"Toothless tigers is one way to describe them. They are more gums than teeth when it comes to putting a bite on deficits," said Pete Sepp, spokesman for the National Taxpayers Union.
NTU's "bill tally" monitoring showed that Blue Dogs propose three-quarters less spending increases than the Democrats as a whole, but the majority of Blue Dogs still vote for most of the spending bills their party brings to the floor.
"The Blue Dogs can't say with a straight face that they have a moderate or conservative bone in their body. They're exposed as pawns of the most left-wing Democratic leadership in American history," says tax-cut crusader Grover Norquist.

Roll Call
Herseth Sandlin Goes to War as New Blue Dog Voice
By Steven T. Dennis
July 1, 2010
The first female Speaker’s famous iron grip on her Caucus has been shaken lately by another woman.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has made passing a jobs agenda her top priority this year, but an anti-deficit insurgency led by Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-S.D.), the administrative co-chairwoman of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition, has forced Pelosi to scale back her ambitions.
With concerns about deficits rising and rank-and-file Democrats fearing losses in November, Blue Dog clout has soared in recent weeks, and liberal priorities from health care benefits for the jobless to tens of billions of dollars in aid to the states have ended up on the chopping block. In the tumult, Herseth Sandlin has emerged to head a new generation of Blue Dogs as old-guard members such as Rep. John Tanner (D-Tenn.) are heading for the exits or lowering their profiles.

In what will come as a shock to most people who swallow the GOP narrative that all Herseth Sandlin does is follow Nancy Pelosi around and vote the same way she does, Roll Call (the news outlet for what is happening on capital hill) has a great article on Herseth Sandlin and how she is forcing Pelosi to abandon some of her agenda by being a strong voice for moderate voters.
Anonymous said... July 6, 2010 6:41 PM
Good grief, don't believe everything you read. The Roll Call article is a sympathetic puff piece.
SHS has voted against SD interests as often as for them, lately. While I'll never vote for the uneducated and leaderless Noem, should another write-in candidate step forward s/he would likely have my vote.

Given the White House's central role in negotiating a secret deal with the pharmaceutical industry, its betrayal of Obama's clear promise to conduct negotiations out in the open (on C-SPAN no less), Rahm's protection of Blue Dogs and accompanying attacks on progressives, and the complete lack of any pressure exerted on allegedly obstructionists "centrists," it seems rather clear that the bill has been watered down, and the "public option" jettisoned, because that's the bill they want -- this was the plan all along.
As Glenn points out, it is 'stuoooooooopid' to think that President Obama and Rahm do not have the 'power' to put the pressure on the Blue Dogs and as LBJ did, bumps some heads together to 'get it done':
The very idea that Obama, Emanuel and company are just sitting back, helplessly watching as Max Baucus, Kent Conrad and the Blue Dogs (Rahm's creation) destroy their health care legislation, is absurd on its face.

Democrat Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is the most corrupt and destructive politician in America. She really is a 'domestic terrorist.' What's scary is that she is third in charge, so if something were to happen to Obama and Biden, this incompetent moron would be our President. She is corrupt, mentally challenged, dishonest and way out of touch with 99% of the American people. She is also a thief and should be in prison. Just scroll down this page and get to know who spends (steals) your money. Why people vote democrat, we will never know. How much more proof do you need? Liberals couldn't even argue this evidence.
Nancy Pelosi speaking to illegal aliens, calling the enforcement of illegal immigration, 'un-American'. No Nancy Pelosi, you're un-American.
If you cross this wench, she will seek payback. Evil Pelosi!

Pelosi, the top Democrat in the House, whose job as speaker makes her third in line to the presidency, said she would retain that position.
“I fully expect to be speaker of the House five weeks from now,” Pelosi said at a NBC/Universal women’s forum in Manhattan, as reported by the New York Times.
“I have great confidence in my candidates,” she said, “and they’re doing just fine in their districts.”

By Glenn Greenwald
The excuses for "compromising" are cascading more rapidly than ever: We need Republican support to ensure it's bipartisan. The Blue Dogs won't go along with what we want. Centrist Senators will filibuster.
I'm really surprised that there's anyone, especially Matt, who actually believes this -- that the Obama White House is merely an impotent, passive observer of what the Democrats in Congress do and can't be expected to do anything to secure votes for approval of the health care bill it favors. As the leader of his party, the President commands a vast infrastructure on which incumbent members of Congress rely for re-election. His popularity among Democrats vests him numerous options to punish non-compliant Democrats. And Rahm Emanuel built his career on controlling the machinations within Congress.
When it comes to defiant progressive members of Congress -- as opposed to supposedly defiant Blue Dogs and "centrists" -- the Obama White House has proven itself extremely adept at compelling compliance with the President's agenda. Consider what happened when progressive House members dared to oppose the war supplemental bill which Obama wanted passed:
The White House is playing hardball with Democrats who intend to vote against the supplemental war spending bill, threatening freshmen who oppose it that they won't get help with reelection and will be cut off from the White House, Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.) said Friday.
"We're not going to help you. You'll never hear from us again," Woolsey said the White House is telling freshmen.
Blue Dogs -- virtually all of whom represent more conservative districts -- are more vulnerable and thus more dependent for re-election on the White House and Democratic Party infrastructure than progressives are. If health care fails and the Obama presidency weakens, they will bear the brunt of the voters' desire to punish Democrats. The White House would have at least as much leverage to exercise against Blue Dogs and centrists. They just aren't doing so. In fact, they're doing the opposite: they're protecting them even as they supposedly impede what the White House wants on one of Obama's signature issues.
This isn't to say that Obama can single-handedly control what Congress does. It's possible that even with maximum leverage exerted, a President can still lose. But there isn't any leverage being exerted against anti-public-option "centrists" and Blue Dogs. There's just no effort being made. The White House seems perfectly content with what the centrists and Blue Dogs have done thus far; the only anger they have shown, as usual, is towards progressives who are demanding robust reform.

Last week, Democratic leaders tried to force a vote on the bill, but “Blue Dog” Democrats balked, refusing to support the bill because of the cramdown provisions. However, as is often the case, Democratic leaders made a few cosmetic changes to bill, and the Blue Dogs heeled, proving once again that they are all bark and no bite.
We’ve seen this all too often from the Blue Dogs. From “pay-as-you-go” budget rules to votes on the alternative minimum tax (AMT), the Blue Dogs have made a habit of momentarily opposing their leadership, only to back down after they secured purely cosmetic changes or promises that “things will be different” the next time the House faces a similar vote.
Only this time, the stakes seem higher than they have been previously.

http://gopleader.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=113410

“When House Speaker Nancy Pelosi let 30 Blue Dog Democrats break ranks to vote against the controversial health care overhaul in March, she probably didn't expect them to go the extra mile and campaign against it in the fall.”

The Botox Queen Pelosi allowed them to vote no.
Think about that statement for a minute or two.
These yellow (blue) dogs would have voted yes.
But Pelosi wanted to keep DemocRat rule.

http://musingsofavastright-winger.blogspot.com/2010/09/blue-dog-democrats-use-health-care.html

07/14/2009
The truth is, the Blue Dogs have to prove that they’re not just drawing straws to see who gets to vote against the proposal in order to cover themselves on a bill they already know is likely to pass. In everything from the trillion-dollar “stimulus” to the Waxman-Markey climate change bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not lost an important vote all year long, despite occasional Blue Dog bleating of discontent.
A large part of the reason for this is that the so-called “conservative” Democrats—the self-proclaimed Blue Dogs—always seem to come up just shy of the votes needed to block the House Majority’s Big Government agenda.
The fact is, the Blue Dogs look more like lap dogs, yelping in protest—while willingly heeling in submission to the House Speaker’s adjustable leash.
So, no wonder the Blue Dogs would want to pretend they are dragging their heels at least a little on socialized medicine.
The fact is, nobody is going to believe that the “fiscal conservative” Blue Dog Democrats stand for anything if they cannot, in fact, stop anything. Now, more than ever, they have a high-profile chance to prove to their constituents whether their bite is as good as their bark—or whether they’ve just been dogging it all along.

http://blog.getliberty.org/default.asp?Display=1367

If a Blue Dog votes for Porkulus but not the omnibus, he can argue that he attempted some fiscal responsibility. Others may vote for the omnibus but not the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. Others may vote to raise some taxes and not others. It’s a game of whack-a-mole that would allow them to claim to support their conservative-minded constituencies while providing no practical obstacle to Obama’s Deadbeatonomics.

Most of the reasons Herseth Sandlin has given for her wariness have to do with the process being used to pass the bill. She told the Sioux Falls Argus Leader that she was flatly opposed to using budget reconciliation to pass the legislation. She said in a statement last month that she wanted the bill to "include ideas from both parties," and was hoping for a "bipartisan way forward" on the issue. Though Herseth Sandlin did vote against the antiabortion language that made it into the House version, and has been a reliable pro-choice vote despite her state's often extreme electorate, she's never cast the healthcare battle as a choice issue, at least not publicly.
But that's what Firedoglake publisher Jane Hamsher blasted Hildebrand for on Tuesday.
He told Politico's Ben Smith last year that he had demanded a refund of his contributions to Herseth Sandlin's campaign, because of her support for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage (Hildebrand is gay), and that he'd vote for a Republican instead of backing her again. His dispute with her may go further back. Hildebrand worked for Tom Daschle, the former Senate majority leader who lost his South Dakota seat in 2004; some supporters of Daschle's campaign felt then that Herseth Sandlin had gone out of her way to distance herself from Daschle in order to buck an anti-Democratic wave and hold onto her own seat.
"There's this grand charade going on that all of this 'brass knuckles' stuff is only for the Blue Dogs, and that they're finally getting tough with the conservadems," Hamsher said.

ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports: Steve Hildebrand is one of most skilled political strategists the Democrats have. He played a critical role in getting Barack Obama elected President – first as the director of his campaign for the Iowa caucuses and later as the Deputy National Campaign Manager during the 2008 general election.
So why, as Democrats face their toughest midterm election since 1994, is Hildebrand on the sidelines?
I caught up with him at his home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to find out. He offered a blunt assessment of Democratic “cowards” who he believes will lose because they are running away from their core principles – and the President.

The Democratic Party's deceitful game
Democrats perpetrate the same scam over and over on their own supporters, and this illustrates perfectly how it's played:
This is what the Democratic Party does; it's who they are. They're willing to feign support for anything their voters want just as long as there's no chance that they can pass it.
The primary tactic in this game is Villain Rotation. They always have a handful of Democratic Senators announce that they will be the ones to deviate this time from the ostensible party position and impede success, but the designated Villain constantly shifts, so the Party itself can claim it supports these measures while an always-changing handful of their members invariably prevent it.

As we’ve documented, Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is not stimulating the economy. Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is payback. She’s taken the current crisis and used it as an excuse to rush a pork-filled stimulus bill through congress.

The San Francisco Chronicle has a few stories in the last couple of days that give insight into the soon-to-be Minority Leader. Matier and Ross ask if she's a "Latte Liberal".
Their answer is yes, Pelosi is a Latte Liberal, but she's more than that, she's also a ruthless and vindictive operator who never forgets an insult.
Meanwhile Washington Bureau Chief Marc Sandalow explains how Pelosi clinched the leadership post: she raised $8 million and doled out more campaign cash than any other Democrat last year (improperly, some say, but the Chronicle overlooks this).
But the money in the article is the insight that Pelosi "prefers to describe herself as an Italian American grandmother of five". When you combine that with the side of her that is a vindictive backroom operator, you realize that underneath the big grin and the non-fat almond latte she is in fact ... Livia Soprano!

The Thumpin': How Rahm Emanuel and the Democrats Learned to Be Ruthless and Ended the Republican Revolution [Hardcover]
Naftali Bendavid
Doubleday; 2007

http://www.amazon.com/Thumpin-Democrats-Ruthless-Republican-Revolution/dp/0385523289

In January 2005, when Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi asked Emanuel to head the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, or DCCC, experts predicted that the party would take perhaps three seats. On Tuesday, it picked up at least 28, changing the course of the Bush presidency.
In a world where congressmen refer to each other as "my distinguished colleague," Emanuel, 46, is sometimes unable to get through a single sentence without several obscenities. His politics are centrist, but his style is extremist. The top of his right middle finger was severed when he was a teenager, adding to his aura of toughness--especially when he extends that middle finger, which he does with some regularity.
In doing so, Emanuel had to be familiar with roughly 50 individual races--the candidates, the interest groups, the voting blocs. It resembled a game of three-dimensional chess, in that what happened in one district could affect dozens of others.

National Right to Life legislative director Douglas Johnson told LifeNews.com that every lawmaker will be held accountable for their votes on what Right to Life and pro-life organizations consider the most important pro-life votes in years because of the potential to fund hundreds of thousands of abortions.
"Every House Republican already opposes the Senate health bill, but President Obama and Speaker Pelosi think they can muscle the bill into law. They are whipping some Democrats into line and they plan to roll over the rest. But these lawmakers are ultimately accountable to their voters, not to their party leaders," he said.

The ten most important election contests of 2010
The South Dakota at-large House race
There are national implications to this a battle of cowgirl political stars. The Democratic incumbent, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, is a leader of the center-right Blue Dog Democrats in Congress. She's one of the most conservative Democrats on Capitol Hill. And she might lose. The Republican candidate, Kristi Noem, is a staunch foe of abortion and a strong ally of the Tea Party movement.
Democrats are trying to make hay out of Noem's 20 tickets for speeding and other traffic violations over the past two decades. But Noem thinks the only ticket that matters to South Dakota is Herseth Sandlin's ties to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
This is a bellwether race. If Herseth Sandlin loses, up to three dozen House Democratic incumbents are likely to go down with her.

In Washington D.C. there is powerful and popular lobby called the Congressional Progressive Caucus which, at one time, openly espoused the principles of socialism and publicly signed onto the agenda of the Democratic Socialists of America.
In more recent years, the Congressional Progressive Caucus has gone underground in respect to their connection to the Democratic Socialists of America. Their roster is no longer published on the DSA website and they no longer publicly acknowledge their loyalty to the socialist organization.
I thought it interesting that during the Democratic YouTube debate, when asked if Hillary was a liberal, she preferred to refer to herself as a "progressive".
“Progressive” is one of those words that certainly sounds like it should be a good thing, right? I mean, who doesn’t want progress! The issue is, however, what are we “Progressing” toward?

http://www.jeremiahproject.com/trashingamerica/progressive.html

Progressives are individuals who are ostensibly working within the republic and its capitalist system, while their real goal is to subvert it, weakening its foundation, the Constitution of the United States of America, and amending it to reflect the Marxist-Socialist philosophy described as Progressivism.
Progressives contend that Progressivism is rooted in three core principles: "Fighting for economic justice and security for all; Protecting and preserving civil rights and civil liberties; and Promoting global peace and security." That's what they say -- it sounds great -- but it's not what they intend.
Everything you need to know about Progressives and Progressivism can be learned from visiting the Progressive Democrats of America's Advisory Board page which features the bios of 25 of the leftiest leftists in America.
In the United States House of Representatives, these people are all Democrats and they all belong to the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC), that was established in the early 1990's. The 83 members of the Progressive Caucus also belong to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), a confederation of socialists formed in 1983 when a splinter group of the Socialist Party (Michael Harrington's Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee, DSOC) merged with the Students for a Democratic Society's (SDS) splinter group, the New American Movement (NAM).
The main aim of DSA was to convert the Democratic Party into a social democratic organization. To that end, during the early 1990's, the DSA hosted the Progressive Caucus' website, which contained the names of its members. When the word got out, all the information regarding the Progressive Caucus vanished. These congress critters don't want you to know their true colors (red).

http://www.theobamafile.com/_Obamunism/progressivecaucus.htm

With their new found leader, Barack Obama, the Socialist Party of America felt secure enough to announce the names of 70 democrats in Congress that belong to their caucus.
Other than Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who openly ran as a socialist, the rest of this lot ran as “moderate democrats.” I think it’s time we put the myth of the “moderate” democrat to bed. They are all Marxists, or Marxist leaning. They all are big government totalitarians hell-bent on destroying America, the Constitution, and our way of life. One needs no other proof than the way Congress has acted since the Marxist-democrats took control four years ago, and the tyranny that has been championed since Obama was sworn in.
Socialism, communism, Marxism, whatever you want to call it, is a vile, dangerous ideology. The people that practice this religion of hate, and that’s what it is, a religion, are evil. Marxism demands a strict centralized command and control government, where the people surrender all of their rights to the almighty government. Government replaces God as savior of man. This is why you see these power hungry demons work relentlessly to control every aspect of your lives. What you eat, what you drink, and so on. It’s a very diseased ideology.
Can’t happen in America?
Remember Obama’s murdering domestic terrorist buddy William Ayers, the fellow who ghost wrote Obama’s first book? (allegedly) Well, Ayers and Weather Underground co-founder Jeff Jones, who helped write much of the $1 trillion Obama stimulus package, were dead serious. As FBI informant Larry Grathwohl points out, Obama’s mentors not only advocated re-education camps for those who didn’t go along with their visions of a communist utopia, they were prepared to slaughter as many as 25 million Americans to make their nightmare come true!
A look at the 45 Communist Goals For Take Over Of America shows us that the Marxists are well on their way to realizing their sick vision for America.
This is why it is essential to defeat every democrat in every election, at every level. They are the natural enemy of Freedom, Liberty, and the American way. They are the enemy of the Constitution, as well as the Rule of Law. They must all be defeated, and their kind must never be elected again.
As we saw with the recent death wishes for Sarah Palin, these people ARE exactly like the bloodthirsty radicals Larry Grathwohl described: Evil, and highly dangerous.

Blue Dogs Welcome Raby's Campaign

Posted by Danny, on August 4th, 2010, at 11:18 am
Blue Dog Democrats have endorsed Steve Raby in his race for the the 5th Congressional District against Republican Mo Brooks.

Concerned Citizen
August 4th, 2010 at 7:57 pm
Conservative NOT!! Steve Raby sends thousands of dollars to the Dina Titus the same candidate that the SEIU supports and does commercials thanking Dina Titus.
This endorsement demonstrates that the Blue Dogs are not really sincere “conservatives”. So what is new?
Steve Raby may appear to be the down home farm boy conservative but do the research and find out he is the PAC-man career lobbyist that launders thousands of dollars in PAC to PAC transfers involving gambling interests among others and donates big money to the same politicians that are ruining our country and are in lock step with Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.

Concerned Citizen
August 4th, 2010 at 11:43 pm
I care when someone is attempting to pull off a charade. Raby the candidate is saying one thing that he is a conservative yet Raby’s actions demonstrate the opposite with sending thousands of dollars repeatedly to multiple liberal politicians over the years. His actions tell me he cannot be telling the truth when he says he is a conservative. Perhaps he is so arrogant to think folks will vote for him and not discover his charade of character.

Blue Dogs are useless and a fraud. It is political cover to claim they are conservatives when they are anything but. Blue Dogs vote in mass for the Democratic legislative agenda and the House leadership. Voting no on final passage of certain bills when their vote is not needed makes them a caucus that has leadership and respect? Hardly. They have turned into the Coward Dogs. Please Nancy, don’t yank my chain!!! (Just look at Bobby Bright if you want a fine example of a true blue doggie fence rider).

The Blue Dogs have supported all of Obama’s agenda and even before that most of them supported Bush’s TARP bailout. The Blue Dogs claim what they are all about is cutting spending. But they have supported the greatest spending in the history of the Republic.
They are hookers claiming to be nuns.

What you don’t seem to get about blue doggies (or you likely do, but you want to perpetuate the myth) is that they can have all the grand plans in the world but they do not vote them. They do not act on them. They do not speak out forcefully for them. And when they do what happens? Pelosi yanks their chain – slaps them around – and basically neuters them while the rest of the Democratic caucus looks on and supports it or keeps quiet. It happens time and time and time again. “Blue Dog” is used as cover – but the game is up. Just look at what happened recently with the 4 dems that actually did try to take a stand. So where were the blue doggies in that caucus meeting? I guess they were muzzled….as usual.

All they’re trying to do is load the bill down with more pork for their districts.

The Top Ten Arguments AGAINST Health Reform and Why they are Rediculous
July 29th, 2009
Reform is all well and good, but we need to make sure it doesn’t increase the deficit. This is the argument made most notably by the “Blue Dog” conservative Democrats, and it should be called what it is: a charade.
We would also add that some of these so-called Blue Dogs are heavily influenced by the health insurance industry like Sen. Max Baucus for instance.

http://www.progresspolitics.com/2009/07/the-top-ten-arguments-against-health-reform-and-why-they-are/

Aug. 19 2009
White House protects Blue Dogs and bullies Progressives
According to the New York Times, the only way for Democrats to achieve meaningful healthcare reform is to placate the Blue Dogs, a group of 52 moderate and conservative Democratic Party members of the House of Representatives, and the roughly dozen conservative Democrats in the Senate too cowardly to actually call themselves “Blue Dogs.”
This essentially means that a minority faction of the Democrats is taking the entire party hostage.
The Times printed this Blue Dog ransom demand (“Compromise, or the healthcare bill gets it”) because many Americans have accepted the often repeated mantra that Obama can’t exert political pressure on the Blue Dogs to adopt more progressive reform because he needs their votes. This claim fails to acknowledge that Obama is already exerting political pressure on progressive Democrats, who actually represent what the majority of Americans want — a serious pubic option.
This White House-supported, forced subservience isn’t unique to the healthcare debate. In June, the White House threatened freshmen representatives who refused to vote for a war supplemental bill. Lynn Woolsey of California, a leader of the antiwar Democrats, said the White House threatened to withdraw support from freshmen who opposed the bill, saying “you’ll never hear from us again.” Woolsey also stated that House leadership was targeting the freshmen. “It’s really hard for the freshmen,” she said. “Nancy’s pretty powerful.” Once again, Progressives were forced to acquiesce to moderate Democrats’ demands, and it is likely that the White House is exerting the same kind of political pressure on Progressives during the healthcare bill debate.
The most obvious explanation for why President Obama shields the Blue Dogs and bullies Progressives is that conservative Democrats (like Republicans) represent the interests of Big Business. In the case of healthcare reform, Blue Dogs represent Big Pharma and Big Insurance, two gigantic industries that represent millions in campaign donations. By representing Big Money, Blue Dogs have secured the loyalty of the White House, and by working in concert, the White House and Blue Dogs then create the illusion of fair compromise even as a majority of Americans scream that they still want a strong public option. The mainstream media then repeats the lie — that Progressives are extreme, need to be controlled, need to compromise, and toe the party line.

http://trueslant.com/allisonkilkenny/2009/08/19/white-house-protects-blue-dogs-and-bullies-progressives/

Call the glass half empty or half full, at the end of the day Obama and Progressive Democrats are not proposing anything more radical then Social Security or Medicare. Two programs that one can find plenty of personal anecdotes about in regards to lost checks or bureaucratic problems, but they’re better run then private enterprises like Blue Cross or CIGNA. Still Blue Dogs continue their little charade and have managed to water down the current version of the public option, but only a little –
The substantive changes the Blue Dogs made to the bill are minimal.

November 6, 2009
There are dozens of Democrats representing districts where a majority of voters have serious misgivings about national health care. And yet many will end up voting for their party’s bill. Why?
“The thing that Pelosi has going for her right now is that a lot of her members are more afraid of her than they are of their constituents,” says the GOP insider. He notes that Pelosi has plenty of weapons to make life miserable for members who cross her — “any benefits the member can have for the remainder of this Congress, the kind of support they’ll have going into next year’s election, and if they lose, what kind of post-Congress opportunities they will have.” All could be endangered by a vote against the health care bill.
So either they have to face down their constituents or their Speaker. It says something about the power of Congress that a lawmaker fears a party boss more than the people who elected him or her. Somehow, I’m sure that’s not what the founders had in mind for a citizen legislature and the people’s branch of government.
The solution for this is to have citizens call the offices of these Representatives and remind them who’s boss.

If Pelosi had really wanted this bill to pass, it would have. You cannot convince me that there were not 12 of the 95 democrats who voted "no" that she couldn't persuade to change to a "yes". She has a bunch of carrots and wheel barrel full of sticks to use, but she chose not to. Then she did everything she could to ensure that no "on the fence" Republican would be swayed to vote "yes". Yet she (and her Democrat cronies) are doing a very good job of making it look like this was all the Republicans' (and by default, John McCain's) fault. That takes a lot of talent if you ask me. Talent put to use NOT for the good of this nation or for its citizens. Nancy Pelosi is not stupid, she's mean-spirited and evil.

Joe Klein, author of the bestselling political novel Primary Colors, described the newly elected Democratic leader in the larger of the two houses of Congress as "the very sort of political anachronism the party should studiously avoid".

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/mar/26/nancy-pelosi-politician-speaker

"Pelosi is engaged in what I call new machine-style politics," Rep. Patrick T. McHenry (R-N.C.), an outspoken critic, wrote in an e-mail. "She centralizes power in the speaker's office and deploys a divide-and-conquer strategy even within her own party. When her poll numbers are high, all is well. When her poll numbers drop, watch out."
As the highest-ranking woman in elective office, Pelosi is as much a power player as the men who preceded her.
"She's well-bred, a lady through and through," said Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (D-Atherton), Pelosi's friend of 30 years. "But anyone who knows her knows not to mess with her."
With a father who was a Baltimore mayor and congressman who ran a political machine out of the family's brick row house, Pelosi cultivates loyalty in ways large and small, much as her father did — keeping careful political tallies, but still remembering birthdays.

Those around Pelosi say she has always kept her own favor file. But, like her father, she has also maintained a “disfavor file” in her head — a roster of those whom she believes have screwed up, betrayed her, challenged her or merely annoyed her.
But she has also moved to strip power from longtime adversaries — and she has a propensity for remembering slights and grievances for years.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/19481.html

Feared and loathed by many, she's the force behind efforts to overhaul entire sectors like health care and energy. And while the Senate serves as a check on her authority, no one crosses Pelosi without regretting it.

Stephanie FOR SOUTH DAKOTA
LATEST ATTACK AD FROM NOEM'S OUT-OF-STATE SUPPORTERS HIGHLIGHTS WHAT'S WRONG WITH WASHINGTON
Herseth Sandlin Response Ad: Left Vs. Right Partisanship Isn't the Answer - We Need Someone Who Does What's Right For South Dakota
Sioux Falls, September 30, 2010 – U.S. Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin released a new TV ad today responding to the latest negative attack ad from Kristi Noem's out-of-state supporters. The national partisan special interest group "AFF" is running hundreds of thousands of dollars of negative attack ads in South Dakota on behalf of Noem.
Herseth Sandlin's response ad says that these kind of special interest, partisan attacks are exactly what’s wrong with Washington, because we need someone in Congress who represents our state's interests, not a national political agenda.
View Herseth Sandlin’s response ad, "What’s Right" here.
Herseth Sandlin has a strong record of standing up to leadership in both parties to do what’s right for South Dakota - not what's right for Washington partisans. That's why she voted against the bailouts and the health care law, while working across the aisle to create jobs in renewable energy and ensure veterans get the care they deserve here in South Dakota. Earlier this week, the National Rifle Association (NRA) endorsed Herseth Sandlin over Noem.
“Kristi Noem is letting down South Dakota voters by allowing national partisan special interest groups to come into our state to do her dirty work and tell South Dakotans how to vote. We need our lone member of Congress to represent our interests every time - not take her marching orders from national interests." said Betsy Hart, Deputy Campaign Manager for Stephanie for South Dakota. “
While not much is known about American Future Fund, it is known that they refuse to reveal their donors – all of whom can give unlimited amounts of untraceable contributions. They have stated they plan to spend between $20 and $25 million between now and Election Day, including the hundreds of thousands of dollars they are committing to anonymously tell South Dakota voters how they should vote.

"Attack ads like this are what's wrong with Washington. Everything is left versus right."

Wrong, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. Everything is wrong versus right.

"Stephanie Herseth Sandlin does what's right for South Dakota."

Wrong, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. You don’t want to repeal Obamacare, for example.

“Congress could use more, not fewer Herseth Sandlins.”

Compared to what? The Democrats who voted for Obamacare?

Argus Leader
Cash flows in for House race
LEDYARD KING • Argus Leader Washington Bureau • October 5, 2010
The latest salvo came Friday when the NRCC - which has spent $139,000 on the race - began airing an ad statewide criticizing the Democrat's vote last year for the economic stimulus bill and linking her to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
The American Future Fund, which supports "conservative, free market ideals," has spent more than $383,000 running ads against Herseth Sandlin. The latest ran Sept. 23 and portrayed the incumbent as a "liberal" who is out of touch with her home state.
Records show that the only independent expenditure made on behalf of Herseth Sandlin was $139 for printing and postage paid for by the NARAL Pro-Choice America, an abortion rights organization. But the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the counterpart to the NRCC, has reserved $500,000 in air time during the last two weeks of the campaign. The DCCC usually decides within a week of the window whether to buy ad time.
Herseth Sandlin has more campaign money than Noem, according to the latest reports on fundraising activity. The Democrat reported starting July with $706,822 in the bank - more than twice the $291,677 that Noem reported. The next report, tracking activity through Sept. 30, is due next week.
Herseth Sandlin used some of her money on a television spot Thursday criticizing the American Future Fund, an Iowa-based organization that's been linked to the Swift Boat ads against Democrat John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election.
"Attack ads like this are what's wrong with Washington. Everything is left versus right," a male narrator says in the ad. "Stephanie Herseth Sandlin does what's right for South Dakota."

Herseth/Sandlin got over 1/2 million from the Democratic National Committee, and a huge amount of money from the Unions members also- contributed to her campaign-most of her money in her campaign fund is coming in from out of state! She did also receive $17,000 from Charlie Rangel & after the news broke of his Congressional Miss-Deeds and investigation-Herseth/Sandlin finally gave the $17,000 to 17 SD organizations-my guess these deserving organizations wouldn't have gotten a dime-except Herseth/Sandlin had to get rid of the questionable Rangel donation he made to her campaign. I will not vote for Herseth/Sandlin-she represents the progressive liberals that believe in wealth redistribution. This will eventually bankrupt the country. My vote goes to Kristi Noem-who really lives in SD and does Not have a husband who is a lobbyist like Herseth/Sandlin!

Didn't we already kick out a washatonian lobbyist in sheep's clothing awhile back? Why are we are still supporting one now, I don't know. Hopefully SD's will wake up and retire her so she can go back to DC and become an other corrupt cog in the democrat wheel. I mean does anybody believe she would move back to SD to live and work? I didn't think so....

Sioux City Journal
Political retaliation: An ugly aspect of health care debate
By the Journal editorial board Sioux City Journal | Posted: Saturday, March 20, 2010 12:00 am
Most Americans, we believe, want their elected representatives in the House and Senate casting votes on something as momentous and far-reaching as an overhaul of our health care system from a position of principle, reason and research-based consideration, not simply from the position of one political party or the other.
Unfortunately, on this bill it appears you either follow your leaders or watch your back.
Let's see if we understand. If after almost a year of discussion, debate and study, Herseth Sandlin concludes health care reform in its present form isn't in the best interests of her constituents at home or the nation as a whole, then Hildebrand may work to encourage fellow Democrats to defeat her? Despite whatever good South Dakota Democrats may believe she has done for her state and her country through her work and myriad other votes over almost three full terms in the House, Hildebrand believes if Herseth Sandlin doesn't get into line on this vote and help this bill pass, then she needs to go?
Our view? The spirit of independence on display in her approach toward health care reform is one of the qualities we respect most about this moderate congresswoman, and we believe most South Dakotans feel the same way about their lone U.S. representative.
In fact, we think Congress could use more, not fewer Herseth Sandlins.

Dakota Farmer
September 2010
At the Sioux Empire Fair and again
at Dakotafest, House candidates Kristi
Noem, a Republican, and Rep. Stephanie
Herseth-Sandlin argued about agriculture.
Noem said she would fire the U.S. EPA
director for not approving E15. Herseth-
Sandlin said that you can’t fire every
federal official you disagree with.

Candidates who are vying to win enough votes to represent South Dakota in the House of Representatives made a pit stop on the campaign trail in Mitchell, SD for a debate at Dakotafest. Representative Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin, Republican challenger Kristi Noem and independent B. Thomas Marking, discussed the hot topics that face farmers, ranchers and small businesses today.
Herseth-Sandlin told the crowd that she voted against the cap-and-trade policy because it would hurt South Dakota agriculture. Noem responded to the cap-and-trade discussion a little further by calling for the head of EPA to resign.
“I believe that Lisa Jackson, the administrator, should step down,” said Noem. “And, I want to know if Congresswoman Herseth-Sandlin would agree with me on that issue because of the terrible work that she is doing against South Dakota farmers and ranchers and us here at home.”
“I didn't call for Secretary Johanns, under the Bush administration, to step down even though the Bush administration opposed the farm bill,” responded Herseth-Sandlin. “Let's stick to the issues other than demonizing political parties. Let's stick to the issues and what matters for South Dakota and doing what's right for South Dakota.”

Aug 18, 2010 — The Daily Republic (Mitchell, S.D.)
Tom Lawrence
Dakotafest is an agriculture-based event, but ag issues were rarely discussed during a congressional candidates forum Tuesday.
Noem called for EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to resign and asked Herseth Sandlin to join her in that call.
Noem said Jackson is doing "terrible work" that is harming South Dakota. She later issued a press release renewing her call for Jackson to step down.
The Democratic incumbent declined and noted she had not called for the resignation of Mike Johanns, who served as Agriculture Department secretary during the George W. Bush administration.
Herseth Sandlin said she would "stick to the issues" and not "demonize people."

First, is the Deed of Trust that was filed in Harrison County Texas in June of 2007, when Max Sandlin and Stephanie Herseth Sandlin bought (or at least put both their names on) a house:
Well, the thing that grabbed my attention was the part where it notes “That we, Max A. Sandlin, Jr. and wife, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, whose mailing address is P. O.Box 50665, Washington, DC 20091-0665, of the County of Washington, State of District of Columbia…..”
Funny, I thought they claimed to live in South Dakota, but what do I know?
Anyway, if you read through the standard long and boring legal boilerplate document, it is acknowledged with both of their signatures that they’re transferring an existing note on the home into one that has their names on it. That was all written up June 8th, 2007, and signed June 19, 2007. While they still haven’t done the same to date for the Stephanie Herseth residence in Brookings (still solely in her name) where they supposedly live, they did manage to put both of their names on the mortgage filed with the county for a Texas mansion.
What Congresswoman Herseth Sandlin’s financial report says is that there was a property sold on 6/23/08 in Marshall, Texas (which is where the property in question is located). Except, Congresswoman Herseth Sandlins’ financial statement says this was (SP) her spouses’ property that was sold in Texas, and not property that they held jointly (JT)
Wait a minute…. Now, the documents sent to me from Texas said they owned (and mortgaged) it jointly. So, why did that form filed with the Clerk of the House of Representatives say that she wasn’t part of it?
When she listed her Brookings Property as an asset earlier in the document, she was accurate in that it was held only owned by her. So, why did she try to obfuscate the fact that she was a joint owner of a property in Texas valued between $250,000 and $500,000?
We’ve got addresses in Washington DC, an 1/2 million dollar address in Marshall, Texas, and the house in Brookings, SD that’s for the most part, ignored.

Rasmussen Reports
October 07, 2010
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in South Dakota finds Noem with 47% support, while Herseth-Sandlin earns 44% of the vote. Six percent (6%) like another candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) are undecided.
It remains a very close race. Noem fell slightly behind Herseth-Sandlin last month 47% to 45% for the first time since winning the Republican Primary in early June.
Noem, it appears, is beginning to overcome the impact of news reports about her questionable driving record. Herseth-Sandlin was elected to Congress in 2004 following the resignation of GOP Congressman Bill Janklow who was convicted of manslaughter after he killed a motorcyclist while running a stop sign at high speed.
Despite being one of the few Democrats in Congress to vote against the national health care bill, Herseth-Sandlin is contending with an electorate that’s very unhappy with President Obama and his policies.

The decisive moment in last night’s debate between Connecticut’s U.S. Senatorial candidates Linda McMahon and Dick Blumenthal came when McMahon asked Blumenthal a simple question:
“How do you create a job?”
Well, it is a simple question unless you are a Democrat who believes in government intervention above all else. You know, like believing spending $800-odd billion on a so-called stimulus boondoggle will allow you to guarantee unemployment will remain below 8½ percent.
In response to McMahon’s question, Blumenthal went all deer in the headlights. He stammered, hemmed and hawed about standing up for jobs with government intervention.
I hate to break it to Blumenthal, a guy who lied about serving in Vietnam, but job creation isn’t rocket science. In her rebuttal McMahon explained job creation to Blumenthal:
“Government, government, government. Government does not create jobs. It’s very simple how you create jobs. An entrepreneur takes risk. He or she believes that they create or good or service that is sold for more than it costs to create it. If an entrepreneur thinks he can do that he creates a job.”

The Left Lies Because You’re Too Stupid for the Truth
The Daily Caller recently reported on a twitter exchange between Matt Yglesias, blogger savant at Think Progress, and and Washington Examiner's Mark Hemingway. During the discussion, Yglesias basically endorsed lying and deception as legitimate when used to advance the left-wing agenda.
Lying is a part of politics because liars are a part of politics, but it's hardly necessary.
This ends-justify-the-means attitude seems unfortunately common on the left. That's not to say it doesn't exist on the right - it does - but it's not publicly embraced and doesn't seem as prevalent.
Just look at Saul Alinsky, the intellectual father of nearly everyone in the Obama administration. He was no high-minded idealist out to convince others of his views. Deception was an integral part of his disgusting strategy.
The reason the left is so willing to accept the use of dishonesty to advance their agenda is correlated with the very nature of their beliefs. The reason they support big government nanny states is because they think people are too stupid to take care of themselves. It should come as no surprise, then, that they'd also think people are too stupid to reach the correct conclusions (in their minds) given an honest accounting of the facts.

I Have to Ask, Are Democrat Voters Really THAT Stupid?
Yes, it seems Democrats view the vast majority of the American people as being pure stupid and not capable of making the normal, everyday decisions of life. If you are not insulted by that form of pandering, then you have a lot to learn about your Democrat candidates. They offer a lot of carrots and a lot of candy, but what they don’t tell you is that once you take it, you will never be able to give it back if you change your mind.
The failure lies in Democrats playing partisan politics with every single issue that could and would have prevented this meltdown of our economy. They play you for stupid every time they blame others for their own ineptness in taking actions.
Yes, you should be angry. You should look closely at their records and look closely at what they are offering and ask yourself ONE simple question- “are they insulting my intelligence”?
Democrats of this nation will say, do, or even lie if necessary to have power.

Conservetive Democrat--Oxymoron
“The Blue Dog Coalition isn't a vehicle to help conservative Democrats influence policy. It is a marketing brand to help vulnerable Democrats deceive voters.”

http://wataugarepubs.blogspot.com/2010/10/conservetive-democrat-oxymoron.html

Blue Dog Deception
10/06/2010
Blue Dog Coalition is a group of self-described independent Democrats that formed in response to the 1994 Republican takeover of Congress. It was a way for some Democrats to distance themselves from the increasingly out-of-touch liberal wing of their party.
In the political media, “blue dog” is synonymous with “economically conservative Democrats.” But according to the Club for Growth’s report, “All Bark and No Bite: The Blue Dog Coalition and the Myth of the Fiscally Responsible Democrat,” the Blue Dogs’ voting records don’t live up to their reputation and the label is merely a means for Democrats to “deceive the media and their constituents.”
Club for Growth Communications Director Mike Connolly said this group of Democrats “sees a lot of value in being seen as moderate or conservative.” The coalition has “never had a position of influencing fiscal policy” as far as “shifting it to the right,” he said.
Since Democrats took back Congress in 2007, the Blue Dogs have voted “almost in lock step” with the rest of their party on high-profile spending issues, according to the report.
On the Fannie and Freddie bailouts, each and every Blue Dogs voted with their party. The “stimulus package” also nearly gained complete support from the group, with 91% supporting the legislation. The “Cash-for-Clunkers” bill passed with 85% support from the Blue Dogs.
Other Democrat spending bills that received a majority of support from Blue Dogs (54% or more): President Obama’s 2009 budget, the auto industry bailout, TARP funds, and Obamacare.
The “pay-as-you-go,” or PAYGO, procedures that House Democrats adopted in 2007 to establish fiscal responsibility was a key effort by Blue Dogs. It helped brand them as deficit-conscious conservatives. But in the time that Democrats have had control of Congress, they have voted to suspend PAYGO rules on spending bills 31 times. Blue Dogs backed their party 86% of those times, according to the report.
Where a congressman stands fiscally can often be defined by his record on earmarks, or projects a congressman attaches to a larger bill that direct money to his district or state.
The report says 52 of the 54 Blue Dogs are “enthusiastic earmarkers.”
While the coalition may have shown more restraint on fiscal issues when it formed in 1994, it has steadily moved to the left. The National Taxpayers Union (NTU), another government-spending watchdog, has given the Blue Dogs an increasingly negative rating on fiscal responsibility.
In 1994, NTU gave the Blue Dogs a score of 52%. Now, they have a score of 18%.
The coalition is treated by its members as if its “like a nightclub or fraternity,” Connolly said. “It’s just a way for vulnerable Democrats to market themselves” and “feel safe.”

July 30, 2009
Blue Dogs are Democrats who represent conservative leaning congressional districts. Blue Dogs talk conservative at home and vote liberal in DC.
It is true that the BDs are helping to shape legislation, some say by moderating it and watering it down BHO's aggressive domestic policy agenda. The BDs can and do withhold their votes until they get the concessions they want. They are currently hard at work feathering their own nests and making sure their districts get their share of the alloted pork. This is how sausage, I mean laws are made in Washington.
If the Blue Dogs really were conservatives, they would be teaming up with the Republican minority to block BHO's ruinous socialistic agenda. A Blue Dog doesn't wake up in the morning trying to figure out a way to stop BHO's reckless policies. A BD wakes up trying to figure out what's in it for me and how will it enhance my re-election prospects. Rinos act in much the same way.
There are really two wings of the Democrat Party: The Blue Dogs represent mostly rural and suburban districts. Many are from the South and Midwest and many can be found in Republican leaning states. These are basically Clinton Democrats. The other wing of the Democrat Party--let's call them Red Dogs--they represent the urban base and core of the Democrat party. They are often radical left and out and out socialists. They want much bigger government, income redistribution, higher taxes, and more government programs as well as affirmative action, gun control, abortion on demand, open borders and same sex marriage. These are the BHO Democrats. They often hail from urban one-party districts and are deeply entrenched and difficult to defeat.
Our biggest chance for taking back the Congress rests with taking out and defeating the Blue Dog Democrats in next year's midterm elections. There are currently 49 congressional districts that were carried by John McCain that have Democrat congressmen. Here is where you will find most of your two faced feather nesting Blue Dog Democrats. I say let's gather our shotguns and our own hunting dogs and drive these cotton picking varmints out of office next year. The Blue Dogs are in fact the low hanging fruit in next year's congressional elections.
Don't let the Blue Dogs fool you. If there is a "D" after their name you know what needs to be done.

Kristi Noem Exposes Herseth Sandlin’s Real Position on Healthcare
(Castlewood, SD - March 31, 2010) In a statement released on the heels of the news Dr. Kevin Weiland had stopped his bid to challenge Stephanie Herseth Sandlin in the Democrat primary because he had assurances from her that she would not vote to repeal the healthcare bill, Republican candidate Kristi Noem charged Herseth Sandlin with misleading South Dakota.
"Stephanie Herseth Sandlin can't have it both ways," Noem said. "If the healthcare bill was not good enough to vote for, then she should be working to repeal it or at least defund the parts that are so terrible for South Dakota taxpayers," said Kristi Noem.
In the joint statement announcing Weiland's withdrawal, Herseth Sandlin said she would not vote to repeal the healthcare bill, despite having voted against it and previously saying she did not think it was good for South Dakota.
"A true blue dog would lead the charge to defund the budget busting portions of Obamacare," said Noem. "What South Dakota needs and deserves is that their Representative in Congress will stand strong, and not give up fighting for what is best for South Dakota to gain political advantage."
"From the first day I arrive in Congress, I will be working to defund those items that South Dakota cannot afford."
Kristi Noem is a Republican candidate running to replace Herseth Sandlin as South Dakota's only representative in Congress.

George Soros…The One who Owns the Democratic Party

http://scottystarnes.wordpress.com/2010/08/22/george-soros-the-one-who-owns-the-democratic-party/

Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight.

FIVE REASONS WHY STEPHANIE HERSETH-SANDLIN MIGHT SQUEAK THROUGH
First, the South Dakota Democratic Party recently made a good move that will help not only Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin, but all Democratic candidates. They changed the primary election rules to allow independents to vote in the Democratic primary in South Dakota.
Second, and related to the first point, Mark St. Pierre, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, will be running against Republican Senator John Thune as an independent even if no Democrat opposes him on the ballot.
Third, there are also a number of other local offices for which Indians have begun to run, and sometimes win, both as independents, and as Democrats.
Fourth, even though the South Dakota Democrats don’t have a candidate for the U.S. Senate this year, they will have a candidate for governor. He is an underdog, but if, as looks likely, the Republicans choose a wing nut as their candidate for governor, then Scott Heidepriem might just have a chance, and a competitive election that brings voters in general to the polls will help Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin. If this is going to be a close election, and I think it will be, then Scott Heidepriem will help Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin, and if every vote counts may well make the difference.

“For eight years, Mike Rounds and Dennis Daugaard have been living a fantasy. Every year they ran up unprecedented deficits with wild state government growth, from TransCanada to Valhalla to multiple state airplanes, only to blame everyone but themselves for the debt before denying there was any debt at all and patting themselves on the back after being bailed out by federal dollars while they pushed their debt to the next year and the next,” Heidepriem said.

Rapid City Journal

Come January, the new governor and the 2011 South Dakota Legislature are likely to face a shortfall in the state budget of $50 to $100 million.
Scott Heidepriem calls that a crisis.
Dennis Daugaard says it's not, preferring to call it a challenge and pointing out that South Dakota has fared much better than most states in the recession.
But the state hasn't missed the money misery entirely. And there's more to come.
The actual amount of the coming budget hole is open to speculation and dispute, as well as manipulation for political purposes.

Democrats in South Dakota are holding three early-vote rallies on reservations this week that will feature "feeds" to attract potential voters.
That activity continues a long tradition of pairing food with voter rallies in areas of the state where Democrats garner as much as 95 percent of the vote.
Strong Native American turnout has been the difference in statewide races in past years, and it could be critical in upcoming races. The emergence of early voting has only intensified efforts to get out the vote in Indian Country.

Voter fraud isn't unknown on reservations. Democrats have often given out free tickets to Election Day picnics for voters on the Pine Ridge Reservation, where 63% of people live below the poverty level. In 1998, that prompted U.S. Attorney Karen Schreier, a Democrat, and Attorney General Barnett, a Republican, to write an unusual joint letter to county auditors noting that "simply offering to provide" food or gifts "in exchange for showing up to vote is clearly against the law."
