With the announcement that Mike McKernan will not seek re-election the Sheriff's race in Grant County has produced four willing candidates.

Three of the candidates will have a run-off election in the Republican Party. They are Kevin Owen, Bill Rise and Brad Swenson.

The sole Democrat, David Mogard, will run against the winner of the above race.

All Commissioner seats up for election will be contested in the primary elections or in the geneeral elections. In District One will be Marcy Smith against Gene Mann (Primary).

In the Third District it will be Paul Dumann and Rodney Thaden (General election).

In the Fifth Ward is Roger Hoff will David Forette (Primary election).

The County Auditor (Karen Layher) and County Register of Deeds Karen Hooth Quade) are uncontested as are the city councilman and mayoral positions.
