Fake DHL Email

Here is another fake email.

From Teddy Smallwood
Subject DHL Tracking number #K0N4J7676915VHL

This one is a little different from the fake paypal email because it does not ask you to click on a link.

Instead it has a attachment with the email. The attachment could be one of many different types of harmful files out there, so don't open any attachments you receive in email like this.

Thanks for the info on this one ApplianceJunk. I would not have suspected the attachment as having a problem. Since they don't ask for personal information one might not suspect anything and then make the mistake of opening the attachment.

Some people wonder how people fall for this stuff. I think it is in numbers. They send out these emails to a large number of people. Most of the people don't bother with it but some people might actually have sent a package recently and think that there really was a problem. Those are the people who they are targeting.
