| Subject: Justin Maass Tournament and Upper Dakota Shortened, Milbank Does Well Mon Dec 13, 2010 9:35 am | |
| The Upper Dakota Forensic League speech and debate contest was set for December 10-11. Only the debate portion was held because of bad weather. Even the debate portion was reduced significantly so the busses could get on the road before the bad weather started on Friday. In the policy division, only two rounds were held. In A Policy, Rebecca Schrupp and Rachel Johannsen finished 1-1 while the B Policy team of Audrey Souza, Dylan Fox, Dezmond Ward, and Allwin McDonald finished in third place. In Public forum, three rounds were completed. Brenna Rausch and Brent Seehafer claimed second place while Timothy Whelan and John Ward were third. Jacob Manlove and Jesse Nelson competed in the LD division but did not place. MHS also hosted the Justin Maass Memorial debate that afternoon/evening. Three shortened rounds of policy debate were held. Brookings teams ended up in first and second as they accumulated an 11-1 record between the two quartets. MHS entries were Kasey Schmidt and Tori Remington on the affirmative and Jacob Erickson and Taylor Welberg on the negative.
