Officer "Jay McGuire" Died Thursday 5/14/09 at 1:22 p.m.

The following comes from Heidi's journal on Caring Bridge.

"Thursday, April 23, 2009 10:31 AM, CDT Well, the doc sent us home yesterday with the news that Jay has weeks to months to live. They say that they can give him chemo and even get it into remission but that it will keep coming back. So, he sent Jay home to die. My heart is crushed and I can't keep from crying. Jay cried yesterday when the doc told him."

Thursday, May 14, 2009 2:49 PM, CDT Hello to all our beautiful prayer warriors and supporters who live literally all over the world. What a blessing you are!

Heidi wanted me to tell you all that at 1:22 p.m. Jay died. He lived and fought right up to the end. He never gave up. We never gave up. It was a beautiful and peaceful end to a beautiful life of a beautiful boy. Like the quote I posted before, indeed, Jay lived right up to the moment that he passed away. A beautiful part for me was to see him with his mother. Heidi was lying at his side and was holding him as he died. He went very gently and peacefullly.

Your prayers mattered and helped us in ways that even we probably don't understand. Keep praying. Keep hoping. Live to the fullest. Heidi will have more to add soon.

He was a wonderful kid and has a wonderful family.
Jay has been in my daily prayers and i will continue to pray for your family.
I prayed if a healing was not to be that he would have a peaceful home-going.
May the Lord give you the healing, courage and comfort that you need right now.

This young man was watched and admired by so many.

What an inspiration to us all on how to live life.

I am especially moved by his family and I sincerely respect them. Thanks for sharing his life with us.
